Covid-19 Reflection

2020 was a very crazy year. Everything shut down, and my family became dependent on ordering groceries online. I remember the first time I wore a mask, it was so hot! My parents would “train” us to wear masks during board games. Everyone thought this pandemic would only last a few months. TWO years later, I’m still taking the same precautions even though there are not one, not two, but THREE vaccines out there. It’s kind of frustrating to me that I’m doing everything I can, and the stupid virus is still out there. It is motivation for me to journal about it a lot. How cool will it be when I read it 20 years later?

Good Morning! I love that when I wake up early in the morning, it is getting brighter outside! I absolutely hate daylight savings, and do not look forward to it. Do you guys like daylight savings? It was originally created in Germany to save fuel in 1916, and then the United States started it in 1918, and even back then, it was unpopular. Here’s a website where I got the information, because I do not have it all memorized. I am very excited for spring break because my family gets to go to Louisiana and see cousins as a Christmas gift. Do you guys know what you’re doing for spring break yet?

My Trip to Mexico

A few months ago, I went to Mexico for thanksgiving. We went to the Secret Beach Villas in Cancun. The food was incredible! I loved the tacos, but the mac and cheese wasn’t my favorite. In the back yard was a pool, and the ocean! I spent 90% of my time in the water with my cousin Natalie. We would come up with fun games and go boogie boarding. When we weren’t at the beach, we were playing with rainbow loom. We made hundreds of bracelets, and a few pineapples. On thanksgiving day, we were waiting for a ride to bring us to the airport, and we saw a crocodile! It was incredible how close I was to it. But then the car came to pick us up and our thanksgiving “feast” was 1 slice of pizza and a bit of salad. All in all, it was a great trip, and I would definitely go back.
